Stay Out of the Shadows...

Hello. I'm sure you have all heard of the Doctor Who Adventure Games. They are downloadable games that you can download to become the Doctor and Amy in pixelated form. The Adventure Games so far have included:

A Dalek invasion and a trip to Skaro - City of the Daleks

Cybermen, Cyberslaves and an evil plot in the Antarctic - Blood of the Cybermen

The Doctor and Amy are seperated with an evil entity roaming free looking for fresh food - TARDIS

The new Adventure Game is their biggest adventure yet. The Adventure Game is entitled 'Shadows of the Vashta Nerada'. It features the classic scary monster the Vashta Nerada, last seen in Series 4 in the episodes 'Silence in the Library' and 'Forest of the Dead' written by Steven Moffat.

 The Adventure Game is written by Phil Ford who also wrote 'The Waters of Mars' and an episode of 'Torchwood'.

'Shadows of the Vashta Nerada' starts immediately after the cliff-hanger ending of episode three, TARDIS. 'Shadows of the Vashta Nerada' sees The Doctor and Amy materialise just south of London (and about a 1000 miles to the left) inside an aquatic sea-bed colony called Poseidon. The game features a breath-taking plot which surrounds a real-world conspiracy – and, of course, takes place at Christmas.

The newest Adventure Game is released on Christmas, so as well as the Doctor Who Christmas Special, we get to become the Doctor and Amy on the same day.

Steven Moffat, the head writer and executive producer of Doctor Who, said:

“We’ve gone all-out for the season finale. 'Shadows of the Vashta Nerada' takes place entirely underwater – something which would be impossible for the TV series, as water is so expensive. It’s thrilling, terrifying, educational and fun. Just steer clear of those shadows…”

We will all have high expectations of this game as the DS and Wii games that have recently been released have not been such a big hit. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until Christmas to play the game to find out if it scares us out of the shadows or if we just lie in the shade, bored. Only 17 more days to go!
